Bread Crumbs

Preparation

Spread slices of bread in the oven at low heat for a few minutes until dry and crunchy but not toasted or browned.

When cool, cover with grease proof paper and roll over with rolling pin and hey presto you have home-made bread crumbs.

Very handy for enhancing taste and textures of dishes and making breaded chicken or veal schnitzel or scotch egg. Home made bread crumbs are easy and cost effective way to use up crusts or the end of a loaf and stores well in glass jars.
