GDAs help you to understand what you are eating and how this compares with recommended levels for the entire day to maintain health. GDAs are exactly that, a guide, and should not be used as a target.
A balanced diet is simply a matter of eating the right things in the right amounts. And GDAs are simply a way of indicating whether you’re generally taking in the right measures of crucial things like protein, fibre, carbohydrates and salt.
Remember though, Guideline Daily Amounts are just that - a guide. Everybody’s requirements are different, so use your GDAs to help you plan your diet roughly rather than set targets to be met every day.
Your GDAs explained on our packaging:
Along with the nutrition information traditionally used on Hovis bread we have gone that one step further to provide nutrition information on the front of our packs, as well as telling you how this compares to guideline levels for the entire day.
