Energy Balance and BMI

The amount of energy your body requires depends on factors like your age, genetic make up and how active you are.

If you spend your working life at a desk and your spare time watching TV, you’ll need less energy than someone with a physical job who enjoys their sport.

That’s why it’s important to eat the right amount of food to give your body the energy it needs. Too much, or too little, and our weight, our health and our overall well being will be affected.
