Your Body Mass Index is a measure of your body fat based on your height/weight ratio. It’s basically a quick way of telling if you’re overweight, underweight or normal.

One thing to remember is that body mass calculations aren’t perfect. Highly muscular people like professional athletes, because of their higher than average muscle mass, can sometimes come out as ‘obese’.
