Hovis in 2001

In what was originally a quite boring category, Hovis took bread into new realms by revealing its revolutionary ‘Big Food’ packaging emphasizing that bread is an essential part of the modern diet and ensuring consumers’ favourites were instantly recognizable on-shelf. Combining wholesome sandwich toppings with wholesome bread, Hovis Square Cut packaging suggested beans as the perfect bread accompaniment, likewise Hovis Wholemeal with tomatoes, Hovis Original with cheese and Hovis Classic with cucumbers!

2001 sees the launch of Hovis Best of Both. A revolutionary loaf with all the taste, texture and look of white bread, but with all the wheatgerm goodness of Wholemeal Bread.

A new animated TV campaign featuring Harry and his family spreads the message that; with Hovis you can ‘get something good inside’ - reasserting core Hovis values of nutrition and health. Appealing to both children and parents who want to provide good food for their children but struggle to battle against junk food, Hovis made it fun to eat what’s good for us.
