Historical Hovis advertising has consistently encouraged consumers to eat healthily and to enjoy the goodness benefits of Hovis. Right from the start, Hovis focussed on building its brand name.

In an innovative marketing campaign in the late 19th century, bakers who used the wheatgerm flour were supplied with a distinctive gold Hovis sign along with baking tins that had an embossed Hovis logo so that every loaf would be instantly recognisable. A strong history of memorable slogans also helped to make Hovis a household name including ‘Don’t say brown, say Hovis’ and more recently ‘As good for you today as it’s always been’ and ‘Hovis is for life’.
